I attended too many professional programs after college trying to find the right place to land, when all I needed to do was sit myself in a chair and write. Luckily, I have a husband and two kids who let me find that chair regularly now, after coming home from my job, eating dinner, and watching the odd soccer game on TV. An English major in college, I love the writing of Jane Austen, Margaret Atwood, Elly Griffiths, Eleanor Brown, and George Eliot (though I’ve only read Middlemarch, it was a whopper). My own writing consists of novels in either the women’s fiction or mystery genres. In my thin slivers of spare time, I read, listen to my children’s nonstop chatter, and wave to my husband across the room.
